Want to Know How to Install Appliances

Is it time for some new kitchen appliances? If you want to know how to install appliances yourself, it is not as difficult as you might think. Most appliances come in standard sizes, so if you can find a replacement that is the same size as your old one, the installation just becomes a lot easier. However, installing new appliances that are larger than your old ones can sometimes be a tough chore.

If you want to know how to install appliances, then read the following tips on ovens. Ranges come in three configurations. That includes freestanding, which sits on the floor and fits between the counter on either side of it; slide-in, which sits on the floor but overlaps the counters; and drop-in, which sits on both the counter and the lower part of the cabinet, and does not go all the way to the floor.

Built-in Ovens

First, you will need to remove the old oven door. This gives you access to the fasteners, and will also make the oven a great deal lighter and easier to remove. Unscrew the screws that hold the oven in the cabinet, then slide the oven partly out. Rest the oven on a box and disconnect the electrical wiring or gas line, then remove it completely. Then slide in the new oven and repeat the process.

A cooktop will drop into an opening in the countertop. Remove the old cooktop by disconnecting the wires inside the junction box or disconnecting the gas line. Undo the fasteners that hold the cooktop in place, and lift the old cooktop out of the opening. Then slot in the new cooktop and repeat the process used to remove the old one.
